Our Living Room Remodel

Living_room-1.jpg

Last night, Kalvin and I had some friends over. They walked into our newly decorated home and said “It feels very ‘you guys.’ It feels Bridgewaterish.” My heart was so happy in that moment. A signature look is all this girl has ever wanted. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love and cherish interior design. I remember sitting on a pillow on the floor between my moms legs and get my hair put in puffs while watching Trading Spaces, Design on a Dime, House Hunters, etc. I’ve been in the game for 20 years, y'all.

As a kid, I got a lot of practice from changing up my bedroom every year or so - we’d paint the walls, the furniture, buy new bedding, frame printed artwork, and sometimes sew new drapes. My childhood was characterized by trips to Joanne Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, and overstock furniture stores.

Our living room style was inspired by the simplicity of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s custom home in Calabasas and the modern style of the 50’s, characterized by tapered legs and asymmetrical furniture.

Check out our new pad below and some not-so-cute “before” photos at the very bottom.
